In 1998, Calendar Club opened its doors at 12 temporary locations across the UK. Since then that number has grown at a steady rate, and we now aim to trade at roughly 300 sites each year, both on the high street and in out-of-town shopping centres. The UK Calendar Club operation is also part of a larger group, with branches in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, altogether boasting over 1,000 seasonal shops.
In 2011, we relocated to our current home on the outskirts of the city, a 12,000m2 storage facility, office complex and distribution centre known as the Exe Box, along with our sister companies, Carousel Calendars and Otter House. The majority of the permanent staff work from this location, with a team of Territory Manager Consultants out on the road, ready to provide help with store builds, health and safety issues and the general day-to-day administration of the business throughout the season.
Not content with being the largest calendar retailer in the UK, selling around 4 million units each year at present, Calendar Club expanded our range in 2012 to incorporate a variety of puzzles and stocking fillers. We hope that the ongoing development of this exciting new gift line will add another string to our bow, and with the growth of the brand will come another opportunity to toast commercial success and business innovation.
